Intro video to the first presence of Age of Sirius in Paris fashion week
In October i started collaborating with fashion brand Age of Sirius (https://www.instagram.com/ageofsirius/) whose latest collection feature Alpaca made coats. During my trip to Peru I visited an Alpaca manufacturing centre to investigate the traditional method of working this prestigious material. This is just a taste of what’s coming in the next days, prior to Paris fashion week where will be presenting the new collection at the Cube Showroom (https://www.instagram.com/cube_n10_showroom/).
I have been to Miami in December to attend the international art fair “art basel”
I stayed in Midtown, a fast developing area. Only a few years ago it was consider a dangerous area. I was told by local that it was not recommended to go beyond the trainline.
Today is a safe area full of shopping mall, palm trees and luxury buildings.
A short walk from this luxury area will show you how it used to be.
A different world compare to the most known South beach area.
During a day trip into the Valle sagrada, i spent some time in Kantu (http://textilescusco.com/) a place where Alpaca wool is worked into traditional peruvian product. After an extensive explanation on the process, i was invited for lunch. It was the best meal during my whole stay in Peru. Thanks to Edzon and his whole family.
A few Photos from our “taller de Arte” in Aldea Yanapay school in Cusco (http://aldeayanapay.org/hello/). Together with my friends http://www.raul33.com/ and Paolo we spent a few weeks volunteering at the school. During this time Raul produced a series of canvas developing the theme of the sacred symbols of the Inca tradition, helped by some of the kids. All the art will be available for sale soon and all the proceed will go to support the Aldea Yanapay project.
One of the photos i took of the great director of photography Anton Smári Gunnarsson (http://www.antonsmari.com) on the latest edition of the British Cinematographer. Well done mate!
Together with my friend artist Raul33 (www.raul33.com) and our friend Paolo we spent two weeks volunteering for Aldea Yanapay (http://aldeayanapay.org/hello/) a school for children based in Cusco, Peru. We worked with the kids to produce canvases which will be sold for charity and all the proceed will go to support the school. In this video Raul painting the facade of the building where the school is based. The Inka Cross or Chakana is a strong symbol of the old cultures of the Andes and is considered the most complete, holy, geometric design of the Inkas. This symbol is often found in old places and holy centers in the Andes in Peru and in Bolivia. The Chakana has had, and still has, a considerable meaning to the Inkas and it also represents many meanings in its design.
A few pictures from the beautiful city of Cusco, Peru
Two pictures from the impressive Salinas de Maras, in the valle sagrada. Worth a visit if you are in the area.
